I am currently reading: “On Being a Photographer“, by David Hurn and Bill Jay.
This book takes the form of a conversation between two photographers with decades of experience between them. They provide invaluable advice for everyone who calls himself a photographer.
– Selecting a Subject
– Shooting the Single Picture
– Creating Contacts (more of an analogic approach, but there are digital tools too)
– The Picture Essay
– The Future of Photography
– Some Photographic Myths
Although the book isn’t brand new, the advice is timeless. I haven’t finished it yet, but can assure you this is a top book for anyone taking this Art seriously. Add it to your (virtual or physical) bookshelf.
