MAAT – Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology (https://www.maat.pt/) is Lisbon’s most recent museum. It opened in October 2016 and has been having big crowds visiting it since. Part of this phenomenon is the attraction for its building, designed by architect Amanda Levete. Its location by the river Tagus helps revitalize the proximity of the locals with this area of the city.
I recently had the chance to visit MAAT. I arranged to meet a friend, but I decided to arrive earlier and take my camera, that this year will be with me much more often. I took a walk around and made some photos, that you can see below. This neighbourhood by the river lends itself to inspiring images, with MAAT, the Electricity Museum, and the 25th of April bridge, among other interesting elements.
In about alf an hour I made a series of photos that I later opted to convert to black and white. I think that gives them a different “colour”. If we pay attention to what’s around us, we will certainly capture interesting moments and scenes. I hope you like the images.
