Nuno Lobito is a photographer with 27 years experience in the field. And I mean the field, because he is 15 countries short of his goal of visiting EVERY SINGLE COUNTRY in the world, if you can believe it. 2011 will be the final year of a 20-plus year adventure. After that he already has a few fascinating projects.
Nuno is a great communicator. The way he shares his experiences all over the World makes you want to pack your bags and go! You really feel the passion, and it’s impossible not to feel greatly motivated to at least go out and start taking pictures.
Most of the first day (Saturday) was spent approaching the basic technical aspects of photography. Among the topics were:
• Depth of Field
• Shutter Speed
• Use of flash
On Sunday we turned to more practical aspects of putting together a photo trip:
• How to prepare
• How to organize your day
• Workflow of working day
• Travel resources on the web
• Gear resources on the web
After that, we were given a project assignment to work on during the week, and present next Saturday. The goal is to produce a number of photos illustrating different aspects of photography (e.g. different apertures, different shutter speeds), and then ten photos on a fixed theme.
I can tell you, it won’t be easy to produce 10 good enough photos in 5 days, but I’m giving it my best shot. How about you? Do you have any good stories about workshops you have done? Share them in the comments section below.
