Digital Photography School has just released their latest book. It’s called “The Art of Self-Portraiture”, and was written by photographer Anna Gay. I’ll start by telling you that there’s a 25% discount for the first two weeks (this one and next). Normally $19.99, but the launch price is $14.99.
This book is all about self- portraiture. This may seem a little intimidating, if you’re more used to photographing other people and places. I know it is for me. I usually turn the camera elsewhere. But that’s one of the main reasons why I found this book so helpful. It gave me the motivation I needed to start experimenting being a subject in my own work.
There are over 50 pages of useful tips, going from the tools you should use, to composition theory, as well as a couple of important chapters on focus and post-processing.
Anna and DPS have accomplished yet another great book, written in an easy language, with humor, that will be useful to beginner, as well as intermediate level photographers.
This is a book I highly recommend, it’s a fast read, and you can start putting the tips into practice immediately. I know I will.
